less than three.
what does it say about our culture when kids can't even graffiti a heart without the use of computer symbols? that is not a heart. that is a less-than sign and the number three.
this is more like it!

[disgruntled] words of wise-dom
having your wisdom teeth extracted is really a rather miserable affair, as it turns out. just about everyone else i know had it done before i did (i guess they usually yank 'em before you're 22) and everyone i consulted in my pre-op anxiety just said, "oh, it's no big deal, really, you'll be fine!" which i am, but what everyone seems to remember, with such painful clarity, NOW are all of the annoying little details. like, for example, how you wake up in the morning with this awful throbbing pain because your mouth has been idle and unmedicated for 8 or 9 hours, or how around day 5 (which is where i am right now) you just want to eat a fucking cookie or some cheez-its, because all you've eaten since wednesday is yogurt and apple sauce, and even though you're feeling much better than the day before, YOU CAN'T. it's not that i'm trying to discourage anyone from joining the ranks of the wisdom-less (90% of people, as someone in my oral surgeon's office insisted), since in all honesty, it's more uncomfortable than anything, and apparently there are all of these possible problems one could face in the future if they don't come out. besides the fact that i do have percocets that i've refusen to take (in an attempt to be tough and noble, i've been taking advil). so i guess if i had taken those, i would be considerably less unhappy. i'm just saying, for something that has become like a right of passage, it's pretty shitty.
